Report: Colin Cole recovering from ankle surgery
Colin Cole underwent surgery on his left ankle, according to Dave Mahler of KJR 950 AM . Mahler indicated he had spoken with Cole on the phone recently.
Cole underwent surgery on that same ankle earlier this year. He was wearing a plastic protective boot and using a scooter to keep weight off the ankle in April. Cole had been rehabilitating that ankle when the team had player-organized workouts in early June.
Cole suffered the ankle injury during Seattle's Oct. 31 loss in Oakland, and he missed the next five games before returning.
If Cole is not ready to begin practicing when training camp opens, the team would have the option of placing him on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.
This is not uncommon, and it doesn't rule out the possibility he would be ready to begin participating during training camp and be ready in time for the regular season. However, if he remains on the PUP list after the date of training-camp cuts, he would then have to sit out at least the first six games of the season.

So here is a good reason not to badger your physician into prescribing an antibiotic for your next head cold. The antibiotic will not help your viral illness and as seen above, could make you really, really sick. Problems with antibiotic resistance is another reason that antibiotics should not be prescribed willy nilly, but that’s another fluffless blog.
