Police Blotter June 27-30: Attempted Break-In; Copper And Bra Thefts

This is a police blotter for June 27-30 compiled by Springfield Township Police Department Record Supervisor Robert J. Woolson.

The following information was supplied by the department:

Two Charged for Theft from Vehicles

On June 27 at 4:31 a.m., a resident from the 700 block of Bradford Terrace reported that, while he was in his rear yard smoking a cigarette, the motion light for his home went on and he observed two males standing in his driveway. One of the males was pulling on the door to his vehicle as the other acted as a lookout. The two males fled the area after seeing the victim. The victim gave chase, but lost the actors. He returned and noticed a vehicle parked in front of his home that he knew was not his or his neighbors’. A short time later, the actors returned to the vehicle and left the scene. The description and registration number were given to the responding officer who relayed the information to the Tinicum Police Department. A short time later, the vehicle was stopped in Tinicum. The victim identified the two actors, Corey Beeson, 19, of the 500 Blk. of Saude Ave. in Essington along with a 17-year-old juvenile also from Essington, as the ones he observed in his driveway attempting to enter the vehicle. The actors’ vehicle was searched and a quantity of stolen merchandise was located in the vehicle, which had been taken from vehicles in surrounding towns during the night. The incident is under investigation by Detective Daniel McNeely. Both actors were charged with Theft From A Motor Vehicle, Receiving Stolen Property, Loitering & Prowling At Night, and Criminal Conspiracy. The 17 year-old juvenile from Essington will be petitioned To Juvenile Court in Media on the above charges.

Egg Vandals Cause Damage

On June 27 at 6:31 a.m., a resident from the 200 block of Maple Street reported that, sometime during the night, someone threw numerous eggs at her home and her vehicle, doing damage to both.

Baby Formula Thieves Get Away

The Genuardi’s Market in the 900 block of Baltimore Pike reported that sometime on June 27 around 8 p.m. a white male and a white female exited the store without paying for a large quantity of baby formula. The actors were last seen entering a vehicle and fleeing onto Baltimore Pike. The area was checked but the actors and vehicle were gone. The loss is valued over $400.
