Do you know the sound of the human body is the impact after being thrown from an apartment building of five floors?

Do you know the absence of noise and sound the smell of cordite when the enraged husband of the woman whose body he tossed off the roof, empty his revolver into his lifeless body?

Do you personally know what it is to get punched in the face, or to be blown out by a group of injuries and have your face cut in the process?

Do you know what it's like to be fighting against almost every day of your life?

Have you ever felt the skin and crush the bones in your hands as the adrenaline flowing in your blood, you punch someone repeatedly fear and hatred, as it sets below are powerless?

Do you know what it's like to have someone point a gun at you and pull the trigger, hear the bullets zing by you that you run for your life?

Do you know what it's like losing a friend to ball, or having to push another friend in his wheelchair after being paralyzed by a bullet?

Do you know what it's like to actually stab someone?To take a sharp object and plunged into another human being, perhaps hitting a bone in the process, and still move forward because you felt it was either that person's life or yours?

Have you ever drawn and waited, with the intention of causing harm to another human being because you were afraid for your life?

Do you know violence? Have you been intimate rates rival third world.

I mention this because I think it's something to boast or because he has somehow privileges in any way (except for some a truly fucked up shit no one should ever have to the experience).I mention this because I am willing to contextualize my plea for nonviolence as a radical, revolutionary form of social change. I want you to understand that I have not come to my own non-violent position after an existence of pink or shelter. I know that violence in a very few people know, for having lived and experienced first hand how most of you only read in novels or see glorified on television screens and movie.

I remember the first time I met someone who told me he had never, ever had a physical altercation. My immediate response was disbelief.I could not see how an individual can reach adulthood without ever having been in a fight.

I'm going on my first-ever maternity leave this fall (yeah me!), which warrants a much more organized curriculum map/plan than what I use for myself (word on the street is my random Post-It notes just won't cut it for the long-term sub).  So, today I began putting together a MUCH more organized curriculum map for each of my subjects, unit-by-unit.  And, being a teacher who appreciates access to already-made resources on the web (why reinvent the wheel??), I thought I might share it with you in case you'd like to use it, too.  And below it, I've included an example of how I used it.  Take it, it's yours!  Use it as-is, update it to suit your needs, whatever you want.
