Yamaha EF2400i Generator For Sale - Fiberglass RV

Being a rookie in the camping world, can you tell me how this would be used at a remote campsite? I still would run most everything in the trailer off of the battery except for something big like the AC unit, correct? Is this used to pretty much charge the battery back up? Would it be inadvisable to plug in the 30 AMP cord with adapter to this unit and use just a regular extension cord instead for one or two appliances? I'm just wondering how others use something like this. I don't see myself doing a lot of off-grid camping but it looks interesting. What are the advantages of this unit over the Honda that was recently listed for sale in the other forums? Will you ship the unit? THanks. When you camp at state forrestry parks and Army Corp of Engineers parks the generator comes in handy to provide plenty of power. We have found that with the Yamaha, it is so quiet people have no idea we are running it unless they come up really close. In the High Sierras, our grand kids were watching a DVD and people were wondering how we could power it because there was NO power in the park. When they walked up and asked, we pointed to the generator. I have found that a generator gives lots of flexibility to RVing. Obviously we use shore power when available. Sometimes we want to stop for lunch at a rest stop and turn on the gen. to use the Microwave or A/C. We have stopped at truck stops or Walmart for a night and the generator comes in really handy. Now on our last RV, the Casita, we had a satellite TV and the generator worked well to provide the power needed for that.
